DO OUR MALE LEADERS VALUE THEIR OWN
WIVES AND DAUGHTERS
Almost all institutions in Uganda are patriarchal and the reality is that males are favored in almost every important and profitable issues. Since our independence, our leadership has been dominated by males who happen to also have wives and daughters like other people do.Take an example of our law making and government leaderships departments which are dominated by men ,do they value their wives or daughters?
Our Parliamentarians make and support laws that favor men, our own Judges in almost, all levels, let it be local councils 1,2,3 and5, take cases of domestic violence as minor. They call them
bedroom matters. If these bedroom matters break homes , are they still minor? Do they ask themselves what if it happens to their own daughters or wives they claim to love and care about so much?
What about allocation of our government resources?
It is believed that the women related departments and ministries in Uganda are badly funded by the government.who does this? Who allocates these resources? Of course the ones in power ,and who are they? Men.still the questuion stands,do they value their own wives and daughters? Do they forget about them ,when they are allocating resources to the departments that fight for the rights of their wives and daughters?
I live the ball in your hands.
What about our schools?
I have attended schools where girls are not allowed to extend reading after preps, even when in candidate classes unlike boys who are allowed to extend according to their will.(even up to morning).
Take also an example of watching in mixed boarding schools during weekends, the same happens in my former schools and other schools in Uganda here. Girls stop watching at 10:00pm and boys are unlimited.Boys do not sweep classrooms, what does that teach boys anyway? What is these head teachers doing to us boys who pass through such schools?
Boys do not peel in schools , that's unthinkable, thank God i can peel ,cook ,and do the so called girls home related works, since i was born with no single girl.I wonder what could have happened.
Anyway ,why are such things still happening in schools which are led by male teachers who claim to love and care about their daughters.
I know of a case in my former school, where boys and girls escaped from school(2004) and girls had to be expelled from school without questions simply because boys at least can escape.
Now i ask myself ,this head teacher who has his own daughters, what if this had happened to his own daughters, could he still say at least boys can escape. Still my question stands , do our men leaders value their own wives and daughters?
I leave the ball in your hands.
